Traditional Marathi cuisines are something mouth watering for every Maharashtrian. India is an Ocean of different religion followed by a different culture and taste. Now when we talk about food my mind go for Marathi food. A population of Maharashtra in metropolitan cities such as Pune, Mumbai, and others has influenced most of the population. Marathi people uses its own unique combination of spices. It has distinctive attributes of its own but also shares much with the Indian cuisine.  So here we have a variety of foods especially liked by Maharashtrian. Snacks: In many metropolitan areas of Maharashtra, the pace of life makes fast food very popular. The most popular forms of fast food amongst Marathi people in these areas include bhaji, vada pav, misal-pav and pav bhaji. More traditional dishes are Sabudana vada, pohe, upma, sheera, and panipuri. Most Marathi fast food and snacks are purely vegetarian in nature. If you are fond of chunking a little in between your breakfast and meal, then you must try Sabudana Vada

  • One and a half cup of Sabudana (Tapioca)
  • 2-3 medium size boiled potatoes
  • Roasted peanuts
  • Chopped green chilies
  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Cumin Powder
  • Refine oil

How to make it:

Soak sabudana (Tapioca) in water completely for 2-3 hours. Crush roasted peanuts in semi-powdered form, mash boiled potatoes. Drain up soaked sabudana (Sabudana size will be big ) add crushed peanuts, potatoes, cumin powder, chopped green chilies, chopped coriander leaves. Mix all ingredients well so as to make a dough and make small balls out of it. Put little oil or ghee on your palm and flatten up the balls smoothly. Heat an oil in a pan and then deep fry flatten balls till it turns golden brown. Sabudanache Vade is ready to eat, serve it with green chutney.
